Ordinary Orchids

Digging into the archives for this one. I used to feel a bit guilty about flower photos. Like they were too easy. Especially indoors where the wind isn't an issue and you can control the lighting. But I've come to realize that that really only applies to photos like this, where the composition is very conventional. When you work to get a new perspective on it – like, say, Georgia O'keeffe did – then you have something very challenging.
